When Kelly Sve took a yoga class for the first time, she says she experienced a distinct feeling of being at home in her body. This is feeling stays with her to this day and is perhaps what keeps her coming to her mat day after day. She is also drawn to the holistic nature of yoga- the practice's ability to simultaneously connect body, mind and spirit. As a teacher she strives to communicate this with her students, she wants yoga to be a healing practice for them. Kelly encourages a safe, nurturing and non-competitive environment in which each student can grow in their practice and build community with fellow students.
Kelly is a certified and registered yoga teacher since 2009 through Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level and is also a certified prenatal yoga teacher. She loves being a yoga student and has recently attended trainings with Seane Corn and with Mirka Scalco-Kraftsow of the American Viniyoga Institute. She teaches yoga in Minneapolis and the surrounding area. She teaches vinyasa, prenatal yoga and restorative yoga.
Prenatal Yoga
Prenatal yoga is for expecting mothers at any stage in their pregnancy. Prenatal yoga builds strength and opens the body to prepare the body for labor and delivery, regardless of the birthing plan. The class also focused on easing tension and discomfort that can occur during pregnancy. In a prenatal class you may build a great community with other women on their journey through/into motherhood.
